Seventy young gardeners discovered the joy of planting at the Barbican Summer Party, choosing, potting and taking home their own plants to nurture.

BHS members are invited to make the most of The Veggery this summer. Plenty of growing space remains for beginners and experienced gardeners alike.

The Veggery, a temporary community growing space, has been installed for a three-month stay from July until the end of September, giving everyone the opportunity to grow vegetables, herbs and flowers in the heart of the community.

It’s time to make your city bloom. Take up the National Trust’s Sky Gardening Challenge. Let’s turn your outside space into something special! Closing date for submissions is 16 August 2026.
