What is there / good times to visit

140 acres of parkland, lakes and woodland - including very extensive bluebell wood.

Outdoor café, toilets, tiny Visitor Centre.

Remains of historic 18th century landscape of Wanstead House.

The Temple, a folly, houses a visitor centre and an exhibition about the history of the park from Roman times (open on the second weekend of every month from 11am to 3pm).

Well worth visiting in bluebell season.

Has a chestnut walk; good for birds and waterfowl; cyclable on the main paths.

Suggested method of travel from the Barbican

Central Line to Wanstead -20 mins from Liverpool St, then 10 minute walk.

The 66, 101, 145, 308, W12, W13 and W14 buses all serve the area around the Park.

Street parking is available in the surrounding area. A small, dedicated disabled car park is located next to the Temple with access from Warren Road.
